The fall semester has begun, with a bunch of exciting news. - Cael joins the lab as our first PhD student! - We welcome two Emerging Scholars--Marian Pham and Steven Berrey! - Lauren Higgins joins the lab as a Postbaccalaureate Research Education Prrogram (PREP) Scholar! We are happy to see our frog bulletin board growing. Welcome all!

Cael, Danny, and Sarayu presented posters at the Department of Molecular Biosciences Annual Symposium! And congrats to Danny for winning a prize for best poster! Regan joins the lab as a Research Assistant! She loves frogs and DNA. Welcome Regan! Regan coordinated a lab visit to the KU Natural History Museum, where Rich Glor showed us around. We even saw some Xenopus! Thank you Regan and Rich!  Mayank joins the lab as an undergraduate researcher! He also changed his major to Biochemistry, which we are very happy about. Welcome Mayank!  - Katherine successfully defends her honors thesis and graduates from KU! She will be starting medical school at KUMC this summer. Congrats Katherine! - Our lab attends the KU Genomics Symposium. Danny and Sarayu presented a joint poster! A ton of exciting things happened this month! - Danny and Sarayu received Spring Undergraduate Research Awards! Congrats! - Danny is now a K-INBRE undergraduate research fellow! - Coral and Cael went to the AI/Genomics/Development Conference at the Stowers Institute in Kansas City! - Coral taught the Xenopus course at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories! -Coral hosted her scientific hero Dr. Carl Wu from Johns Hopkins University for the Newmark Lecture! Thanks for visiting us Carl. Our lab was awarded a 2-year pilot grant from the NIH Center of Biomedical Research Center for Molecular Analysis of Disease Pathways!!
